Dear Friends,
By the time you receive this letter I may very well have harvested a massive bull elk in Pie Town, New Mexico. Many of you have responded to my previous letter with praise and words of commendation–especially the men! It won’t surprise me to learn that my example has inspired other men to take their wives on a fantastic hunt themselves.
Our meetings in Mississippi and Illinois in August were well attended and anointed by the Spirit. Connecting with friends whom I have not seen in many years was absolutely delightful. Meeting new people with whom you have the “unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace” was encouraging as well.
The downside to mine and Glenda’s trip to New Mexico is that we will miss Malachi’s first football game of the year. He is in the eighth grade and playing on the junior varsity team with ninth graders. Hopefully we will have phone service so we can get updates as the game progresses. Malachi is now 6’2″ and weighs 185 lbs.
Josh and Bethany are doing well. Bethany is busy quilting “t-shirt” quilts. Can you believe folks will pay for a quilt made from old t-shirts? Josh has had a reprieve from legislative duties in August and he has enjoyed preparing for the fall hunting season. He plans on killing his first black bear on September 24.
Eric and Suzanne have been on vacation. They spent a week on the beach in Pensacola with Suzanne’s family. Little Willow Mae should have a good tan when they return home.
Glenda and I are truly blessed to have such a great family. We are blessed by your friendship as well. Your support of our ministry is not taken for granted by us. To quote Granny Miller “we would be up the creek without a paddle” were it not for the kindness and generosity of folks like you. Thank you.
On the Potter’s Wheel,
David Miller
