Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of Him who “now hath appeared once in the end of the world to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”
Last week I received a note from some dear friends and long time contributors to Line Upon Line Ministries who referred to my monthly letters as “letters from Mayberry”! This struck me as being funny. The more I thought about it however, the more it became a compliment. Living a simple life i.e. enjoying your family, your church, your ministry (work), etc. is a tremendous blessing from the Lord. I pray that you are enjoying your “Mayberry” as well.
I suppose I have a “Mayberry” type ministry also. I don’t do anything unusual. I just visit local churches and preach the Bible. I preach the old doctrines that Baptists have always preached and I do so expositionally. It’s amazing to me that I am still in business! I’m preaching in Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas; Fulton, Kentucky; Fort Gay, West Virginia; Lebanon, Virginia; and Lepanto, Arkansas in October.
I’m not one to brag, the Lord knows I’m not that kind of person, but I thought you would want to know that Glenda and I harvested a monster bull elk on our hunt on Cox Peak Ranch in Pie Town, New Mexico on September 4. The hunt was awesome. I had a cow elk put her head in the blind and lick the end of my crossbow! Glenda had one stick its head in her window and chew on the blind and nearly turn the blind over. Next year we are going to film our hunt. After we killed the bull we both laughed and laughed at the fact we were in the middle of nowhere with no phone service, I’m 70 years old and as handicapped as can be and we have just experienced what few people will ever experience! It was truly a special moment.
You know what else is special? It is special (grace) that you have continued to support our ministry with your financial contributions and your prayers. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your kindness and generosity.
On the Potter’s Wheel,
David Miller
