Dear Friends,

Good morning from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Eric and I arrived here last night at the Expressway Baptist Church where I will preach through Wednesday.  We are also going to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Walhalla, South Carolina, before returning home on the 17th.  I am violating a basic principle which I have observed for decades, i.e. travel north in the summer and travel south in the winter.  Actually, the forecast is calling for 70 degree weather while we are here.

Recently, I had to cancel two meetings in Alabama because of health issues but I’m stronger now.  I certainly missed being with the saints at Glen Iris Baptist Church in Birmingham and at Grace Life of the Shoals Church in Muscle Shoals.  I have been singularly blessed in that I have had to cancel very few meetings in fifty one years.  Praise the Lord!  Actually, it is an anomaly that “a country preacher at large” like me would even be able to stay in business at all.  Churches don’t have half the number of revival meetings they did 30 years ago and those who do don’t want an ole “grace preaching, no frills, expository, exhorting preacher,” like myself.  I’m thinking about spiking my hair and wearing a Hawaiian shirt to increase my sex/curb appeal!  What do you think?

Josh won the Republican primary for state representative even though the Republican governor recruited, funded and publically endorsed his opponent.  Josh and I are seriously considering establishing a PAC which would hold seminars around the nation teaching conservative legislators how to have courage along with their convictions and quit caving in to political pressure.

Your gifts to Line Upon Line have sustained us financially.  Thank you.  You are precious friends.

On the Potter’s Wheel,

David Miller
