Dear Friends,
We are in Townville, South Carolina. David is preaching in a revival meeting at the Oakdale Baptist Church. Being with him this week has been such a blessing. I have loved meeting new people here and renewing acquaintances with folks I met more than twelve years ago. The worship services were glorious yesterday. I don’t think I have ever heard David preach as well as he did on Sunday. During the service on Sunday night a young man came face to face with the truth about salvation and was saved.
On Thursday, November 12, forty-one pastors are arriving for an Expository Preaching Conference at this wonderful church. The folks are busy getting everything ready for the conference. Hershael and Tonya York, Bill and Oneta Williams, and Ryan Bush are also joining us Thursday. David and Hershael will spend hours teaching these men how to do verse by verse preaching. They will talk to them about the rich blessing of having study aids and the advantage of using an outline.
Bill and Ryan will share their heart for missions and will challenge these men to become involved in spreading the gospel. They will urge these forty-one men to share what they learn about expository preaching with indigenous pastors in Ecuador.
Oneta, Tonya and I are here to serve. Our primary responsibility is to encourage the nine wives who are attending the conference.
Our family is doing well. Josh and Bethany are constantly on the go. Things are about to get hectic for them. Josh is running for re-election and they discovered last week that he will have an opponent in the primary. Malachi starts his basketball season November 16.
