Dear Friends,
Greetings from the beautiful Ozark mountains! I hope this finds each of you doing well. All is well here in Heber Springs, Arkansas. This past Monday, April 7, would have been Dad’s birthday. He would have been 79. For most of my adult life Dad and I would have a joint birthday meal since our birthdays were very close together. It was a different experience this year with neither he nor Mom. I miss them both a lot in times like these. Not being able to give Dad a hard time about something on his birthday really got me missing him and Mom and it even made me start feeling a little sorry for myself. That didn’t last long though because I thought about where they are, and I was reminded of the great joy that must abound in heaven. I don’t know everything there is to know about heaven and compared to many of you I know very little, but I take great comfort in knowing that both of my parents are receiving their reward.
It is Springtime here in Arkansas and turkey season is almost here! My Dad wasn’t much of a turkey hunter though he had killed a few. (And some of them were in turkey season. ) I was reminded of an occasion when I talked Dad into going turkey hunting with me several years ago but the story is too long to tell in this letter. There are a lot of good stories to tell about our hunting adventures and other things that we got in to. I’m looking forward to going on the podcast with Bro. Mark Williams in the next few months and sharing a few of those. Hopefully, you will be able to enjoy them as well.
Bro. Mark has been doing a great job with Line Upon Line Ministries. The website is continuing to grow (www.lineuponlineministries.com). Thank you so much for your support. There are three podcasts already up on the website. Our plan is to post a new podcast each month. Please share these with your friends and family, folks in your church. We want these to be an encouragement and a way for the work the Lord did through my parents to continue.
